Great interview, Paul.
Harold is so right in saying that it's worth losing some legacy clients, who demand on-site visits and other obsolete services, in order to attract quality employees.
And as the quality of employees is improving, those better employees attract better clients.

Just been going through issues with 1 tech, (seem to be through it now, but time will tell) 5 weeks ago we had a new tech join, who must have picked up on some of this.
And he decided he would try it on, and try to make us force out the tech who has been with us for 3 years. He came to me last week to moan about the poor guy, and said he couldn't work with him. I gathered everyone together and told them if they didn't want to work with anyone else in the company that they could leave now, Monday morning the new tech came in and then handed in his notice.
He was then shocked that when i returned from my meeting I told him to leave there and then.

But now he has gone the week has been great everyone is happy, evene though we are all over worked!!!

That is so true. I had to 'sack' a student today who couldn't/wouldn't turn up every week and complete a full day. His father wanted to collect him at 1pm today - 4 hours early. Happens every week. The lad is 17 and will not use the bus or cycle. Not good enough. Tomorrow i will just open up the computer and walk away..................... well they 'have to let me do it when i feel like it' - no they don't.
keep up the good stories
