I believe the challenge for any MSP isn't about finding information. It's about knowing which info is most relevant, and what to do with it.
When I started my first business back in 2005, finding the right information was a challenge.
Of course the internet was around, but finding what you actually needed was a slog. You needed to do many searches, check multiple websites and blogs, bookmark things, buy books, attend training, and ask experienced friends.
A completely different world to today. Where, let's be honest, all the information we need is right there on our phones in our pockets.
With the advent of AI, we don't even need to sort the information any more. We can get AI to do the research for us.
There are many, many problems with our world right now. But from an information point of view, these are truly golden times. You agree?
However... the challenge for any MSP isn't about finding information. It's about knowing which info is most relevant, and what to do with it.
If it was just about having the information, then everybody would be running a fantastic, highly profitable, highly systemized business.
I believe the challenge as we're entering 2026 is to seek wisdom.
Because you need to figure out...
- What's the information that's most relevant to you in the specific circumstances you're in right now?
- With the context of your current challenges and opportunities?
- And the resources (cash, time, energy) you have available to you?
Tell me, how do you do this? Do you have a mentor? Are you part of a peer group? Do you regularly hang around with people who have already achieved what you are striving to achieve?
